We went to the marae as a class. It was lots of fun. We were welcomed onto the marae, sung songs, learnt about the history of lake Ellesmere, wove flax flowers and played with raku sticks.

Hi USC we went to the Marae to learn about what a marae is and to learn the history of Lake Ellesmere. It was to learn about the land 150 years ago linking to our Inquiry topic this term. We had lots of fun one of our favourite thing was weaving the flax flowers.
